How to Use a VELO Nicotine Pouch
- Place one pouch under your upper lip, against the gum — left or right side.
- Allow 1–2 minutes to settle. A mild tingling sensation is normal, especially at stronger levels.
- Leave for 20–30 minutes (mini format) or 30–45 minutes (slim format).

VELO Shift Explained: What Is Dual-Flavour Technology?
Shift is the most interesting thing VELO has done in years — and it's still relatively new. BAT launched the range in 2025 and we've been stocking it for NZ customers since early 2026. The idea is simple: one pouch, two flavour phases. The first flavour releases in the opening 5–10 minutes, then gradually transitions into a second one for the rest of the session.
In practice it works like this. Shift Hot Spearmint opens cold and sharp — proper spearmint — then warms into a subtly spiced finish that creeps up on you. Shift Hot Peach starts bright and fresh, almost like biting into a peach, before settling into something warmer and almost caramelised. Shift Cool Peppermint goes the other direction: opens warm, then cools progressively across the session.
My honest assessment: the fruit varieties are more convincing than the mint ones. Hot Peach and Hot Dragon Fruit feel like two genuinely distinct experiences. How do I read the best-before date on VELO cans?
VELO uses the European date format: DD/MM/YYYY. A can labelled "08/11/2026" expires on the 8th of November 2026 — not the 11th of August. The month is always the middle number. Unopened cans stored cool and dry maintain full freshness for 12–18 months.
