There's a particular kind of email I get a few times a week: someone who's worked their way through ZYN Extra Strong, found the ceiling, and wants to know what's actually next. Not "what's slightly stronger" — they mean the proper stuff. Pablo. Iceberg. CUBA Black. The cans that make people raise an eyebrow when they see the number on the label.
This guide is for those people. It covers every brand in the high-strength NZ range — what's actually in each can, how the brands differ from each other, and who I'd recommend each one to based on years of assessing this category firsthand. I've opened every can in this guide before it went into the Snusdaddy NZ range. Some surprised me. A few I'd warn you about.
If you're new to nicotine pouches, this is not the right starting point. See our ZYN Flavours Ranked guide — it covers the 3–11 mg range where most Kiwi newcomers should begin.
Legal to order in NZ: All nicotine pouches on this page are tobacco-free and legal to import into New Zealand for personal use under the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990. Not subject to tobacco excise duty. Ships from Sweden with full tracking, typically 5–10 business days. Full customs and delivery guide →
Important: Every product in this guide contains high-to-extreme levels of nicotine. Intended for adult nicotine users aged 18+ with an established tolerance only. Not suitable for beginners, non-smokers, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those with cardiovascular conditions. Switching from vaping? What "Strong" Actually Means — Our NZ Strength Tiers
The labelling on nicotine pouch cans is all over the place. One brand's "Strong" is another brand's "Regular." I stopped trusting can labels years ago. At Snusdaddy, all NZ product pages use our own tier system based on per-pouch nicotine content — not whatever the manufacturer decided to print on the lid:
← Scroll right to see full details on mobile →
| Tier | Nicotine/Pouch | Typical Brands | Who It's For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strong | 6–12 mg | ZYN, VELO, LOOP, ACE | Experienced users, 20+ cigs/day |
| Extra Strong | 12–20 mg | Killa, Pablo Gold, White Fox, ZYN Ice | Advanced users, chain smokers |
| Super Strong | 20–30 mg | Pablo Ice Cold, Siberia, Pablo Dry | Expert only, very high tolerance |
| Don't Go There | 30 mg+ | Pablo Exclusive, Iceberg, CUBA Black, FEDRS Hard, DOPE #50 | Extreme tolerance only |
One labelling issue worth flagging before we get into the brands: Pablo's "50 mg" cans don't mean 50 mg per pouch. That figure is the nicotine concentration per gram of filler material. The per-pouch content is 30 mg. Similarly, R4VE "30 mg" labels reflect can concentration; the per-pouch figure is 15 mg. We always list per-pouch on Snusdaddy's NZ pages — it's the only number that actually matters. More on ordering from Sweden to NZ, including customs and delivery times.
Killa — The Sensible First Step Above ZYN (12.8–13.2 mg/pouch)
Killa is the brand I recommend most to users who've maxed out on ZYN Extra Strong and want more. GN Tobacco make these in Sweden at 12.8–13.2 mg per pouch — close enough to the top of ZYN's range to feel like a natural progression, but with a fuller, more immediate release. They're slim, all-white, no drip. The nicotine comes through cleanly without the aggressive bite you get from jumping straight to the 20 mg tier.
The NZ flavour range is one of the broadest in the Extra Strong category: cold mint, frosted mint, spearmint, watermelon, apple, banana ice, grape ice, mango ice, cappuccino, and the Killa Exclusive sub-range which extends to cherry cola, blue raspberry, lemonade, and strawberry watermelon. There's something here for almost every taste preference at this strength level.
My picks from the Killa NZ range:
Killa Cold Mint (12.8 mg/pouch) — Best Entry Point in the Range
Slim All-White | 12.8 mg/pouch | Extra Strong
A clean peppermint profile with a cooling compound that activates quickly and holds for 30–40 minutes. If you've been using ZYN Cool Mint and want more from the same flavour direction, this is the most logical first Killa can. Our most-reordered Killa product in the NZ range — which tells you something about how often people come back for it.
Killa Apple (13.2 mg/pouch) — Best Fruit Alternative
Slim All-White | 13.2 mg/pouch | Extra Strong
A clean, crisp apple that holds its integrity well at Extra Strong levels — which is harder to pull off than it sounds. A lot of fruit pouches above 10 mg taste vague or synthetic. This one doesn't. Good pick for Kiwi users who want something distinctly non-mint at the 12–13 mg tier without reaching for the more polarising fruit-ice blends.
Killa Watermelon (13.2 mg/pouch) — Best Fruit Option in the Range
Slim All-White | 13.2 mg/pouch | Extra Strong
Sweet and recognisably watermelon — it doesn't lose the flavour profile the way cheaper fruit pouches do at high nicotine levels. One of our warmest-weather sellers in NZ, which makes sense: watermelon and a Wellington summer afternoon go together well. If you're trying to move away from mint and want a fruit that actually delivers on the label, this is where I'd start.
White Fox — Swedish Match Quality at High Strength (16.5–22.5 mg/pouch)
White Fox is the only brand in this guide made by Swedish Match AB — the same people who make ZYN. That matters. The quality control, the nicotine purity, the pouch consistency — it's to a different standard than most of the Eastern European producers at this strength level. If you care about what's in the can, White Fox is where Swedish Match's manufacturing rigour meets a much higher nicotine ceiling than ZYN offers.
Two products in the NZ range: Full Charge at 16.5 mg and Black at 22.5 mg. Both are slim format, both are spearmint — there's no fruit option in White Fox, which I understand frustrates some customers but is simply the brand's position. Mint, done well, at high strength.
White Fox Full Charge (16.5 mg/pouch)
Slim | 16.5 mg/pouch | Extra Strong
At 16.5 mg it matches ZYN's ice-technology Ultra Strong range in strength, but delivers nicotine more directly and immediately. The profile is spearmint — sweeter and lighter than peppermint. My recommendation for ZYN ice users who want to push higher without changing manufacturer philosophy. The step from ZYN to White Fox Full Charge is the smoothest transition in the Extra Strong tier.
White Fox Black (22.5 mg/pouch)
Slim | 22.5 mg/pouch | Super Strong
The flagship — Swedish Match's highest-strength product. Same spearmint profile as Full Charge, amplified considerably. The nicotine delivery is fast: most people feel it within 90 seconds. This is not a step for beginners or even most intermediate users. But if you're comfortably using Full Charge regularly, White Fox Black is the natural ceiling within the Swedish Match quality standard. Don't skip Full Charge and come straight here.
Pablo — The Name Every High-Strength User Knows (15–30 mg/pouch)
Pablo is probably the brand most Kiwi high-strength users have already heard of before they find us. Produced by NGP Europe in Estonia, the brand has built its reputation on high nicotine delivery at a competitive price — and the NZ catalogue on Snusdaddy carries the full range across four distinct sub-lines.
The labelling issue, clearly stated: Pablo cans display a concentration figure. "50 mg" on the Exclusive range means 50 mg per gram of filler — not per pouch. The actual per-pouch content is 30 mg. I've had customers email me confused about this more times than I can count, so I want to be clear: 30 mg per pouch. That's still one of the highest single-pouch figures in the NZ range. It just isn't 50.
Pablo Ice Cold & Pablo X — Super Strong (24 mg/pouch)
Pablo Ice Cold and Pablo X Ice Cold are the traditional heavy hitters — slim all-white, 24 mg per pouch, ice-cold mint profile that's noticeably more aggressive than anything in the ZYN or White Fox range. The X variant adds an extra cooling compound. Both are significantly stronger than they initially feel: the nicotine builds over the first 10 minutes in a way that catches people off guard if they're not prepared for it. Give a pouch 10 minutes before deciding you need another one.
Pablo Exclusive — Don't Go There (30 mg/pouch)
The Exclusive range is the largest and most varied in the Pablo lineup — and the strongest, at 30 mg per pouch. Over 25 options in the NZ catalogue: fruit (mango ice, strawberry watermelon, kiwi, banana ice, passion fruit, pineapple), dessert (strawberry cheesecake, cappuccino, mocca), candy (bubblegum, lemonade), mint (frosted ice, green mint, blue mint), and combinations (cola, cherry cola, blue raspberry). The nicotine content is identical across all flavours — 30 mg/pouch — which means your flavour choice is purely about taste, not strength.
My honest standouts from the NZ Exclusive range:
Pablo Exclusive Frosted Ice (30 mg/pouch) — Best Mint Option
30 mg/pouch | Don't Go There
The purest cold mint experience in the Exclusive range. A crystalline sharpness that sits above the base Ice Cold line — if mint is what you're after and you want the maximum nicotine Pablo produces, this is the one. No fruit, no gimmick, just very cold and very strong.
Pablo Exclusive Mango Ice (30 mg/pouch) — Best Fruit Option
30 mg/pouch | Don't Go There
One of the more genuine fruit achievements at 30 mg — the mango is identifiable throughout and doesn't get swallowed by the nicotine intensity. The ice finish balances the sweetness without overwhelming it. Our most reordered Pablo Exclusive fruit flavour from NZ customers, which I take as a reliable signal that it delivers on the label.
Pablo Exclusive Strawberry Cheesecake (30 mg/pouch) — Most Unique
30 mg/pouch | Don't Go There
I was sceptical about this one. A dessert pouch at 30 mg sounded like a gimmick. It isn't — the creamy vanilla-strawberry profile holds up surprisingly well and doesn't clash with the nicotine delivery the way I expected. Our team has talked about it more than almost any other Exclusive flavour. Worth a can if you want max nicotine without any mint or cooling element.
Siberia -80 — The Original. Before Pablo Existed, There Was Siberia. (18–30 mg/pouch)
Long before Pablo or Iceberg existed, Siberia was the benchmark for extreme-strength oral nicotine. The name references minus 80 degrees — an indication of the cooling intensity — and the product lives up to it. The Siberia -80 All White range brings that heritage into a tobacco-free pouch format with the brand's characteristic red bergamot and spearmint profile.
The NZ range covers multiple formats: Slim, Super Slim, Ultra Slim, Original, Long, Maxi, and Mini, with nicotine content ranging from 18.1 mg (Ultra Slim) up to 29.7 mg (Maxi Portion). The flavour is consistent across formats — distinctly Scandinavian, very different from the synthetic fruit profiles of Pablo and Iceberg. This isn't for everyone. The bergamot-spearmint character is an acquired taste, and I've had customers love it immediately and others find it off-putting.
My honest recommendation: buy one can before committing to bulk. Siberia is a specific flavour experience, not just a high-strength mint. If it clicks for you, you'll understand why it has the loyal following it does.
Iceberg — Maximum Strength, Maximum Variety (35–40 mg/pouch)
Iceberg is where the NZ catalogue hits its ceiling — 35–40 mg per pouch, produced under the NGP Europe umbrella, with the widest flavour range of any brand at this strength level. Over 30 varieties across two sub-tiers: 35 mg (Dragonfire, Crazy Mix, Emerald, Bubblegum, Pineapple Mango Coconut, Apple Lemon Pineapple, Mango Banana, and DOPE-branded cross-releases) and 40 mg (the full Iceberg Black catalogue — Cherry, Grape, Cola, Watermelon Lime, Frosty Mint, Dragon Fruit, Kiwi Strawberry, Gummy Bears, Energy, and 20+ more).
No other brand at above 20 mg in the NZ range comes close to this flavour breadth. That's Iceberg's main argument: if you need extreme strength and you also care about what you're tasting, this is where you end up.
Iceberg Black (40 mg/pouch) — The Benchmark
40 mg/pouch | Don't Go There
The flagship — an intense, slightly herbal spearmint at the full 40 mg. Iceberg Black is what I use as the benchmark for the entire range, and it's the product I'd recommend anyone new to Iceberg tries first, before picking a novelty flavour at this strength level. The nicotine delivery is among the fastest of any product in the NZ catalogue. If that sentence gives you pause, it should.
Iceberg Watermelon Lime (40 mg/pouch) — Best Fruit Option at 40 mg
40 mg/pouch | Don't Go There
The best-received fruit variety in the 40 mg range within the NZ market, and one of the few products at this strength level our team would describe as genuinely pleasant to use — not just functional. The watermelon-lime combination is tart and refreshing, and it holds up against the extreme nicotine in a way that most fruit pouches at this tier don't manage.
Iceberg Black Mint (40 mg/pouch) — Best Mint Option at 40 mg
40 mg/pouch | Don't Go There
Darker and more herbal than Frosty Mint — somewhere between classic spearmint and cooling peppermint in character. If you find straight icy mint profiles too sharp at this strength level, Black Mint is the answer. My top recommendation for mint users stepping into the 40 mg tier for the first time who want the full Iceberg experience without the most aggressive cold profile.
FEDRS Hard — The Most Underrated Brand in the NZ Range (32.5–33 mg/pouch)
FEDRS is the brand I most often feel I have to actively recommend before people discover it themselves. Made in Poland, FEDRS Hard sits at 32.5–33 mg per pouch — between Pablo Exclusive and Iceberg Black on the strength ladder — with a flavour range that genuinely goes places no other brand at this nicotine level does: Tobacco Cherry, Banana, Cola, Evilberry, Energy, and Lime alongside the expected Mint and Raspberry.
The pouch format is also distinct — compact and drier than most competitors, which means less immediate drip and a longer-sustained flavour release. Users who find Pablo pouches too wet consistently prefer FEDRS. Lime Hard at 33 mg is one of the better citrus executions in the entire NZ strong range — not a flavour you'd expect at this strength, and better than it has any right to be.
CUBA Black — The Absolute Ceiling of the NZ Range (42.9 mg/pouch)
CUBA Black sits at 42.9 mg per pouch — the highest per-pouch nicotine content in the NZ catalogue, marginally above Iceberg Black's 40 mg. Polish-made, slim format, with a catalogue of 19 flavours at this strength: Blueberry, Double Fresh, Cherry, Pineapple, Cola, Forest Berries, Ice Spearmint, Watermelon, Peach, Banana Hit, Black Currant, Cold Dry, Apple Juice, Grape, Blackberry, Lollipop, Mango, Raspberry, and Tropical Fruit. More variety at the absolute top of the strength range than any other brand in NZ.
Be honest with yourself here: CUBA Black at 42.9 mg is the top of the NZ range for a reason. Before opening a can, you should be comfortably using 30–40 mg products. The nicotine absorption is extremely rapid. This is not where you experiment. Cardiovascular conditions, pregnancy, or any remaining uncertainty about your tolerance — all of these are reasons to stop at Iceberg instead.
Pablo Gold Edition — The Sweet Spot Many People Land On (17 mg/pouch)
Pablo Gold sits at 17 mg per pouch — a tier that a surprising number of experienced users find optimal and stay at. High enough for clear, sustained satisfaction; not so extreme that it requires constant tolerance management. The Gold Edition covers nine flavours in NZ: Grape Ice, Frosted Ice, Passion Fruit, White Mint, Tropical Punch, Frosted Mint, Dark Cherry, Blue Raspberry, and Kiwi.
I most often recommend Pablo Gold to users who've maxed out on White Fox Full Charge (16.5 mg) and want to try Pablo without jumping directly to the full 30 mg Exclusive range. The step from 16.5 to 17 mg looks small on paper but the Pablo Gold pouch format and release profile feel noticeably different to White Fox's Swedish Match construction — it's a useful comparison to make before committing to the stronger Pablo lines.

The Progression Path I'd Recommend for NZ Buyers
Jumping tiers too fast is the most common mistake I see. Nicotine tolerance builds with time — moving from 6 mg to 30 mg in a month will not go well. Nausea, dizziness, and headaches are the body telling you to slow down. Here's the progression I'd actually recommend:
Stage 1 (New to pouches): ZYN Mini 3 mg → ZYN Slim 6 mg
Stage 2 (Building): ZYN Slim Extra Strong 11 mg → ZYN Ice Ultra Strong 16.5 mg
Stage 3 (Entry high-strength): Killa 12.8 mg → White Fox Full Charge 16.5 mg → Pablo Gold 17 mg
Stage 4 (Advanced): Pablo Ice Cold 24 mg → Siberia -80 Slim 24.8 mg
Stage 5 (Expert): FEDRS Hard 32.5 mg → Pablo Exclusive 30 mg → Iceberg 35 mg
Stage 6 (Extreme): Iceberg Black 40 mg → CUBA Black 42.9 mg
Most NZ users coming from VELO or cigarettes are at Stage 1–2. The brands in this guide are Stage 3–6. If you're unsure where you sit, our VELO NZ Guide covers 4–17.9 mg in detail. You can also filter directly by tier: strong nicotine pouches NZ (6–12 mg), extra strong nicotine pouches NZ (12–20 mg), or don't go there pouches NZ (30 mg+).
Ordering to New Zealand: What You Need to Know
All products in this guide ship to NZ from Sweden. Here's what matters:
- Legal status: Tobacco-free nicotine pouches are legal to import for personal use under the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990. Not subject to tobacco excise duty.
- Age verification: All orders require 18+ verification at delivery — driver's licence, passport, or 18+ card. Do not order if you are under 18.
- Delivery: 5–10 business days from Sweden via PostNord International, handed over to NZ Post for last-mile delivery. Every order ships with a tracking number you can follow from Lidköping to your door. Full details on import duties, GST thresholds, and NZ Customs — see our NZ Shipping & Customs Guide.
- Bulk discounts: Applied automatically at checkout across all brands. Mix any flavours — discounts apply to total order quantity, not per product.
- Storage: Keep cans in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. NZ summers are warm — a drawer or cupboard, not a hot car. Unopened cans stay fresh for 12–18 months if stored properly.
Cost Comparison: Sweden vs Local NZ
The handful of NZ-based nicotine pouch retailers stock a limited range — mainly ZYN and VELO up to 11 mg. The high-strength brands in this guide (Pablo, Iceberg, CUBA Black, FEDRS) are generally only available via international import. Even for mainstream brands, ordering from Sweden typically works out cheaper per can once you're buying in multi-can quantities. Prices on Snusdaddy are listed in NZD at checkout — no currency conversion surprises. A single can of Killa (20 pouches) is typically NZ$8–12 before bulk discounts; Pablo Exclusive and Iceberg sit around NZ$10–14.
Exact pricing and bulk discount tiers are visible at checkout in NZD.
⚠️ Safety: Know the Warning Signs Before You Open the Can
I include this section in every high-strength guide and I mean it every time. The products on this page contain 12–42.9 mg of nicotine per pouch. At these levels, overconsumption is a genuine risk — especially for users who've stepped up too quickly or are using a high-strength pouch for the first time. Read this before you open a can of Pablo Exclusive or CUBA Black, not after something goes wrong.
Signs of nicotine overconsumption
Mild (common in new or stepping-up users): Dizziness, lightheadedness, mild nausea, headache, increased heart rate, sweating, hiccups, or a sensation of warmth or flushing. Remove the pouch immediately if these occur. Don't tough it out.
Moderate (requires attention): Vomiting, significant trembling, difficulty concentrating, pale skin, chest tightness, or anxiety disproportionate to your circumstances.
Severe (seek help immediately): Difficulty breathing, fainting, irregular heartbeat, seizure, or loss of consciousness. Call 111 (NZ emergency services) immediately.
If in doubt: Remove the pouch, sit or lie down, drink water, rest. Most mild overconsumption resolves within 20–30 minutes once the pouch is out. If symptoms persist or worsen, contact the NZ Poisons Centre: 0800 764 766 (24/7, free, confidential). Keep all pouches stored securely and out of reach of children and pets — nicotine poisoning is far more serious in children and animals than in adults.
To reduce risk: never use a stronger pouch than your current tolerance warrants, don't use multiple pouches simultaneously, and avoid very high strength pouches (30 mg+) on an empty stomach or combined with alcohol. Stepping up? Stay at the new strength for at least two weeks before considering another increase.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the strongest nicotine pouch available in New Zealand?
CUBA Black at 42.9 mg per pouch. Iceberg Black at 40 mg is a close second. Both are in the Don't Go There tier and not suitable for beginners or intermediate users.
Is Pablo stronger than Iceberg?
It depends on the product. Pablo Exclusive sits at 30 mg/pouch; Iceberg Black and most of the 40 mg Iceberg range are stronger. CUBA Black at 42.9 mg is stronger than both. Pablo Gold (17 mg) and Pablo Ice Cold (24 mg) sit below most Iceberg products.
What does "50 mg" mean on a Pablo can?
It's the nicotine concentration per gram of filler material — not per pouch. The actual per-pouch content of Pablo Exclusive is 30 mg. We list per-pouch figures on all Snusdaddy NZ product pages so you always know what you're actually getting.
Can I use these products if I've only ever used cigarettes?
Not directly — the products in this guide are substantially stronger than a cigarette. A standard cigarette delivers roughly 1–2 mg of nicotine absorbed; a single Pablo Exclusive at 30 mg delivers far more. Switchers from cigarettes should start at 3–6 mg and build gradually. Our ZYN Flavours Ranked guide covers the beginner end of the spectrum.
Are strong nicotine pouches safe to use during Ramadan?
A question we receive from NZ customers regularly. For a thorough look at the relevant considerations, see our dedicated guide: Nicotine Pouches During Ramadan — NZ Guide.
Which brand has the most flavour options at high strength in New Zealand?
At Extra Strong (12–20 mg): Killa, with over 30 varieties. At Don't Go There (30 mg+): Pablo Exclusive (28+ varieties) and Iceberg (30+ varieties) lead the field. CUBA Black offers 19 flavours at 42.9 mg — the most variety at the absolute top of the strength range.
How fast does a strong nicotine pouch work?
At 20 mg and above, most users feel the effect within 2–4 minutes. Pablo Ice Cold and CUBA Black users typically report onset within 90 seconds to 2 minutes — significantly quicker than 3–6 mg pouches, which take 5–10 minutes to build. That fast onset is part of why jumping tiers too quickly goes badly: the effect arrives before you've registered how strong it is.
Can you drink with a strong nicotine pouch in?
Water and cold drinks are fine. Hot drinks — coffee, tea — can increase saliva production and accelerate nicotine release, making a 30–40 mg pouch hit harder than expected. At ZYN 6 mg this is a minor consideration; at Pablo Exclusive or Iceberg Black it's not. Alcohol combined with high-strength pouches can amplify absorption and increase nausea and dizziness — I'd avoid that combination, particularly at the Don't Go There tier.
Do strong nicotine pouches damage your gums?
All pouches can cause mild gum irritation, more so at higher strengths. The tingling is a normal response to the pH of the filler. Rotating the pouch position — alternating left and right side of the upper lip, or using the lower lip occasionally — reduces contact time with any single area. If you experience persistent soreness, swelling, or bleeding gums, reduce frequency and see a dentist. These effects are substantially less severe than those associated with traditional tobacco snus or cigarettes.
What happens if you accidentally swallow a strong nicotine pouch?
Swallowing a used pouch is unlikely to cause serious harm in an adult — most of the nicotine has already been absorbed. Swallowing a whole, unused CUBA Black or Iceberg pouch is a different matter: if you experience symptoms beyond mild nausea, contact the NZ Poisons Centre on 0800 764 766. Keep all pouches out of reach of children and pets — nicotine poisoning is far more serious in smaller bodies.
Are strong nicotine pouches allowed in NZ workplaces and public spaces?
Nicotine pouches produce no smoke, vapour, or smell — they're not covered by New Zealand's smokefree workplace legislation. In practice, most NZ workplaces and public spaces have no specific policy on them. As a courtesy, check with your employer or venue if uncertain. The discretion of the format — nothing visible, no odour, no need to spit — is one of the primary reasons NZ users choose pouches over other nicotine products.
